Challenges and Solutions
The installation faced significant logistical challenges due to extremely tight access for deliveries. The installation team was restricted to working only on the section of the pathway they were laying, with no access to the grass on either side for machinery to avoid damaging the landscape. To overcome these challenges, we implemented the following strategies:
- Careful Planning: Detailed planning was essential to ensure that all materials and equipment could be delivered and utilized within the confined space without compromising the surrounding grass areas.
- Precision Installation: Our skilled installation team executed the project with precision, ensuring that the Trailflex surface was laid efficiently while adhering to the access restrictions.
Benefits of Trailflex Surfacing
- Enhanced Accessibility: The new pathway provides a hard surface for improved access to the sports pavilion and playground, making it easier for visitors of all abilities to navigate the area.
- Durability and Aesthetic Appeal: The Goldstone finish not only enhances the visual appeal of the pathway but also ensures long-lasting durability, capable of withstanding various weather conditions.
- Community Impact: With the installation of this pathway, visitors can now enjoy a mud-free entrance to the playground from the car park, eliminating the muddy puddles that previously made access challenging.
Community Feedback
Pangbourne Parish Council shared their excitement on Facebook:
“The path is intended to improve access to the sports pavilion area for visitors of all abilities and access needs. For the first time, there is also a hard surface on the access to the playground from the car park… No more muddy puddles by the entrance gate, Peppa! It is also hoped that over time, more sections of path may be added to complete a circuit around the rec ground to provide an all-weather path for recreation.”
Conclusion
The Pangbourne Sports Pavilion pathway project exemplifies how Trailflex can effectively address accessibility challenges while enhancing community engagement. We look forward to the possibility of expanding the pathway further, creating a complete circuit around the recreation ground for all-weather recreational use.
